Pasta Drying Rack

If you make your own pasta, whether with the kitchenaid attachment or some other method, you need a place to put those pasta noodles when you're done. If you don't have a rack you're forced to lay them on the counter, taking up valuable space and requiring a lot of flour to keep them from sticking together. For a very small price you could instead hang them on a pasta drying rack and make things a lot easier on yourself.

One of the most popular and highly rated racks sold at Amazon is by Norpro. It's about $13, and looks like a small tree with several pegs sticking out of it for hanging long pasta noodles. It holds at least 2 lbs, is easily disassembled for easy storage and will make your pasta making life much easier.

Or perhaps you prefer the rack not be made of wood. Kitchenaid sells one for about $40 that is similar in design but has more rods sticking out so you can hold more pasta, although due to the design only some of them could be long pieces, others would have to be short since the rods are somewhat close to the base.

This one is made of stainless steel and has perfect 5 star ratings from its owners. Apparently it's often given as a wedding gift and put on bridal registries.

Overall I'm highly in favor of drying racks if you make homemade pasta. It's certainly a cleaner way to handle the results of your labor, and doesn't require a lot of messy flour either. If you need a gift for that hard to buy for person consider one of these and the pasta maker attachment. Whether or not they do a lot of cooking I think you'll find it gives them a great new experience.
